Ms Coady has decided it’s time to retire, having been teaching since the age of 16.
She began teaching at Mitchell Conservatorium in 1993 part time and has been there full-time for the past eight years.
Ms Coady now plans on moving to Canberra to be closer to her family.
“It’s time to slow down and do some of the things that I love to do and want to do,” she said.
She hopes to spend her retirement enjoying “the cultural side of life” and plans to travel eventually.
While she is excited for this next chapter of her life, Ms Coady said she was very sad to leave her students.
There were plenty of tears during Ms Coady’s final days of teaching, which Mitchell Conservatorium’s administrative officer Jane Coombs said shows what a wonderful teacher she was.
“It is testament to the caring and professional way that she has taught over the years, which will be sorely missed,” she said.
Mitchell Conservatorium’s operations manager Jan Facey said the conservatorium wish Ms Coady every happiness and success with her new adventure.
“Jenelle has been with us for many years and has also taught at Red Bend Catholic College and she has given many hours of her own time willingly to our community whenever she has been asked,” she said.
Mitchell Conservatorium will be holding a farewell for Ms Coady to give her a chance to say goodbye to everyone before she leaves town on Tuesday, June 9.
Everyone is welcome to attend the farewell which will be held at Forbes Inn on Sunday, May 31 from 12pm to 1.30pm with nibbles provided.
