While the outcome of the incident was considered relatively lucky, with nobody seriously injured, owners Sandra Buchler and Danny Demosthenous now have the tough task of rebuilding their business.
The three-month-old business’ front wall, as well as its new computers, printers, reception area and an internal wall were all destroyed during the incident.
The dentistry has cancelled their appointments this week and Dr Demosthenous said it was likely next week’s would have to be cancelled as well.
Dr Demosthenous said he would like to restore the business to its former design, with building hopefully starting by the end of the week.
“They’ll get started pretty soon, I would imagine by the end of this week, if not by Monday,” he said.
“The aim is to try and get everything back to how it was.”
Dr Demosthenous was the only person in the building at the time of the accident.
While he was not injured, he said he has some bruising on his back after his efforts to lift the car off the female driver, whose ankle was trapped under the wheel of the car.
“I had to climb over the top of the car because it was blocking the clinic from the reception,” he said.
“I darted around and jumped under the wheel and put my back into it to lift up the car.”
While the female driver was taken to Orange Base Hospital with her leg fractured in three places, the accident could have been much worse.
Normally the business would have still been open at 4.40pm when the incident occurred.
However last week, Dr Demosthenous had asked his receptionist not to book in a late patient as he had to drive to Sydney that afternoon.
While rostered to work, Dr Demosthenous gave his receptionist an early mark.
Twenty minutes later, the car reversed into the reception area.
“Any other day she would have been sitting there,” he said.

Driver stable
The female driver involved in last week’s car accident is reportedly in a stable condition.
The 52-year-old teacher from Condobolin fractured her leg in at least three different places when her Ford station wagon reversed into Forbes Family Dentists in Templar Street.
She was taken to Orange Base Hospital after the accident last Thursday, and she remains there in a stable condition.
