Yesterday marked the end of an era at the Farnell Street family store, as the couple have sold to new owners after more than 23 years in business.
It was an emotional day for the Rodgers family and their loyal staff and customers, who kept coming back for the trademark Roberty Bob’s service.
One of Bob’s final duties before handing over the keys to new owners Kim and Richard Ticehurst was to make one last morning tea delivery to Duncan Steel proprietors Stuart and Kayleen Duncan and their staff.
“It’s been a great ride and haven’t we met and made some great friends,” Bob said.
