Forbes Shire Council made the decision at their May council meeting to hold the meeting as they had received a lot of communication regarding people feeling unsafe in their own homes.
The meeting will be a chance for the public to come along with any concerns they have, which will then be taken back to Lachlan Local Area Command.
“We’ll convene a meeting to gather intelligence from the community so that we can take that information back to police,” Forbes mayor Phyllis Miller said.
The meeting will be held at Forbes Town Hall at 6pm and everyone who is worried about crime in the community is invited to come along and have their say in a public forum.
