The Forbes soccer team versed Parkes Hotel Roos, who fortunately for News on Rankin, were also short players.
With two incomplete teams on the field, the match started off scrappily and both Parkes and Forbes struggled to find their form.
However as more players turned up, including junior players Jamie Mitton and Kaitlyn Andrews who helped bolster numbers, Forbes found their feet.
News on Rankin forward Regina Mielke made multiple strikes at goal, with many just missing by a whisker.
Forbes’ defence was also strong, preventing any goals from the opposition.
In the end, neither teams managed to get any points on the board and the final score was 0-0.
Last Saturday’s match was the last grading game in the Parkes Ladies’ Soccer Competition.
News on Rankin are currently ranked in seventh place after round six of the competition. Next week’s match is yet to be announced but will be once the grading has been determined.
