The Platypi first grade, ranked ninth in the Blowes Clothing Cup, won’t be able to rest easy against the Roos, who are currently sitting in sixth place.
After a victory in the second round, Forbes have not won another game - something coach Heamani Lavaka will be conscious of remedying today.
Lavaka said the team is still trying to rebuild, and will be working on having a “good start” today.
“We play well in every second half, but in the last four games we have let everyone score more than 20 points in the first half,” he said.
“We finish strong but we can’t keep playing catch up, it takes the energy out of us.”
The make-up of the side will be the same as last week against Parkes Boars, with the exception of scrum half Mark Simmonds who will be replaced by Angus King.
Lavaka also announced that injured Simon Flynn and Steve Morris, two Platypi heavyweights, will be out for the rest of the season.
“This will be a big loss to the team,” Lavaka said.
While the results haven’t been on the scoreboard, Lavaka said he has been happy with the attitude at training.
“It takes a while to rebuild, hopefully there will be a turning point sometime,” Lavaka said.
