The match will be an important one for the Platypi, if they want to keep any hope of the semi-finals alive.
But with a home advantage, and the club’s Ladies Day sure to attract a sizeable crowd of supporters, the team should have a few factors getting them across the goal line.
That said, Lavaka pledges the Platypi will be giving more than 100 per cent to ensure a win against the Wombats, who beat Forbes 26-12 in their last encounter.
“When we have a good game of defence, our attacking is not good and when our attacking is strong our defence lets us down,” he said.
“If we can put our best games together we’ll have a better fight. That’s what we will try to do tomorrow (today).”
With strong forwards Adrian Cole and Nathan Suringa out for the match, the Platypi have had to find strength elsewhere.
Fullback for NSW Country U20s Daniel Sweeney will wear a Platypi jersey today along with Daryen Hazell who has come from Sydney for the match.
After a week off, Josh Coulthurst will also be returning to the ranks.
First grade will kick off at 3.15pm following the colts and second grade games.
