‘M&L Unchartered’ will launch tomorrow night from 9pm to 11pm and will showcase unsigned artists from across the central west.
The show will be co-hosted weekly by Monty and Louise McGufficke and will feature pre-recorded songs, live music and interviews with fledgling bands and solo artists.
As for the genre, the options are “limitless”.
“Rock, country, folk, hip-hop...it can be any style,” Monty said.
“As long as you’ve got an instrument, can sing and have your own original music, we’ll play it.”
M&L Unchartered have also set up a Twitter and Facebook account so that listeners can ask the musicians questions during live interviews.
The first guests of the new program will be solo performers Chelsea Turner and Maddi Collits.
Monty said he believes there is a lot of untapped talent in the central west and he hoped the program would help unearth local musicians.
“We hope to highlight all the many talented musicians in the central west district and give them a chance they might not normally have for people to hear their music,” he said.
The pilot show has already piqued the interest of six local artists but the program’s hosts are encouraging more people to come forward.
