The 2015 Forbes Cup TAB meeting will mark 20 years since the Bankstown Sports Club first became major sponsors of the event.
Around 200 members of the club are expected to make the pilgrimage to Forbes this year to help commemorate the milestone.
The association started in 1995, when a small contingent of members from the Bankstown Sports Club attended the Forbes Cup, enjoyed the day, and were impressed with the hospitality shown by the Forbes members.
Two decades later and the unlikely partnership has turned into an enduring one says secretary of the Forbes Jockey Club Blake Nicholson.
“The Forbes Jockey Club is extremely excited to be celebrating our 20 year partnership with the Bankstown Sports Club,” said Mr Nicholson.
“They’ve been coming for over 20 years and really have made a massive contribution to the success of our meeting.
“More than that we’ve formed many strong friendships with our mates from Bankstown.”
Carlton and United Breweries Clydesdales will be in attendance for the meeting and people will be able to see them in the Forbes CBD on Monday morning prior to the races.
As in previous years the calcutta on the Forbes Cup will attract enormous interest on Sunday night.
