Better Homes and Gardens chef Fast Ed Halmagyi will be spicing up the event to be held in Forbes on October 17.
This year’s championships are promising to be bigger and better than ever with the committee recognising that it is time to take the event to the next level.
President Chris Roylance said that the committee have been working hard to provide extra value and more to see and do for both competitors and spectators.
“The BBQ Championships are about bringing people together, having a bit of fun and putting Forbes on the map,” Chris said.
This year the committee has joined forces with Relay for Life and both events will be held at the same venue.
“It just works. Two major events coming together provides the community and the region with the opportunity to come together to celebrate, raise funds for a good cause and just have a really good time,” Chris said.
The 2015 BBQ Championships will offer everything you would associate with the traditional Aussie BBQ including tasting plates, cheese and wine sampling plus much more.
Fast Ed will conduct cooking demonstrations throughout the afternoon, cooking on a Matador BBQ, kindly donated by Bunnings Forbes.
The BBQ will be raffled at the end of the day and tickets are on sale now at many local businesses.
“Who wouldn’t want win a brand new BBQ that Fast Ed has cooked on?” said Chris.
“Fast Ed will be a big draw card and will add that extra element – he is such a personality and we are very pleased to be able to bring him to Forbes.”
The two events are being held at South Circle Forbes on October 17 and both committees are encouraging everyone to lock the date in their calendar.
