Cath performed in the first episode of the live rounds on Sunday night with the Aretha Franklin classic ‘Think’.
While nervous prior to the performance, Cath nailed the difficult tune and was pleased with her performance.
“It went really well, I was really happy with my performance,” she said.
“I got out there and just had fun with it.
“I had a plan of what I wanted to do with the performance but when I got out there it all went out the window, I had such a good time.”
Cath said she loved the fast-paced atmosphere of the first live show on Sunday with the extra instruments and fun sets making it more exciting.
“I had back-up singers and saxes brought in,” she said.
“It made me feel more comfortable with them there, like a normal gig.”
Despite a solid effort, Cath was unfortunately not ‘saved’ by her mentor Jessie J, who instead chose to save 16-year-old Ellie Drennan.
“Ellie’s such a beautiful young girl and at 16 to have a voice like that, it’s amazing she got through,” Cath said.
Cath will now rely on public votes to continue her Voice journey.
She needs more votes than fellow teammates Amber Nichols and Simi Vuata, as the person with the lowest number of votes is out of the competition.
“Our whole team gets on really well so it’ll be sad on Sunday to see someone go home,” Cath said.
“I know I have a lot of support out there but so do other people, so it’s anyone’s guess [as to the voting results].
“Whatever happens will happen and life goes on.”
Cath is currently in Sydney - where she will remain until she gets voted out of the competition - rehearsing for this week’s performance.
She hopes the central west will continue to get behind her and vote and would like to thank everyone from the Eugowra, Forbes, Parkes, Bathurst and West Wyalong communities for their continued support.
