Six police were stationed in Forbes between 9am and 5pm Saturday and conducted 47 roadside drug tests.
Five returned a positive reading and the samples will be sent to Sydney for confirmation and analysis.
Drivers involved were banned from driving for 24 hours.
If the positive reading is confirmed, charges follow.
Police also detected two people driving with low-range prescribed concentration of alcohol offences.
One person was charged with driving while disqualified and another charged with driving an unregistered vehicle.
TRAILER THEFT: A green box trailer was stolen from a Young Street premises last Thursday night.
The trailer has the registration plate V31167 and anyone who sees it or has information about its whereabouts should contact Forbes Police or Crime Stoppers.
ASSAULT: Police are investigating an allegation of assault shortly after midnight on Friday night.
It is alleged that a 40-year-old male assaulted an employee of a Rankin Street licensed premises about 12.20am Saturday.
INFRINGEMENT NOTICE: A 21-year-old man will be issued with an infringement notice for offensive language after an incident in the early hours of Sunday morning.
Police allege the incident occurred outside a licensed premises in Rankin Street.
THEFT: A wallet containing personal items has been stolen from a Thomson Street home. Police believe the theft occurred between 9pm Saturday and 9am Sunday.
