Forbes Heritage 2016 is in full swing this weekend and you’re invited to enjoy everything on offer.
Sunday will be something special for the families with loads of activities for kids of all ages including a tug-o-war for the “big kids”.
For the children there are egg-and-spoon races, three-legged races and a tunnel crawl.
Entires will be divided into years 1 and 2, years 3 and 4 and years 5 and 6 so everyone has a great chance.
There are prizes for placegetters in each event, donated by Nock’s Newsagency.
Emma Little and the Forbes Preschool team are coordinating events for those five years and under.
There will be a jumping castle and face painting by Fleur Hurford.
There’s also a “hide-out” packed with activities for kids aged six and up - you’ll have to come on the day to find out more.
As a bonus, all children will be given Bushranger Bucks to “spend” at the Bushranger General Store.
Bernardi’s IGA has donated goodies including balloons, drinks, lollies and lucky dips that will be available at the “store”.
Sno cones and fairy floss will be available for purchase.
Entertainment will be provided by the Town Band and for those who love their vintage tractors, there will be a tractor and machinery display.
There will be something from each decade from 1900 on, including a rare, recently restored 1902 Ivel tractor making its public debut.
Young adults are being called on to take up the tug-o-war challenge.
The competition is open to 15 years and over - prize money for the winning team has been donated by Forbes Shire Council and there’s a challenge trophy crafted and donated by Justin Walker.
Forbes Heritage 2016 launched on Tuesday with a trivia night.
