Ten-year-old Colly played - and won - three games with the NSW team in the bi-annual nationals competition.
Each game involves six eight-minute chukkas. The team is split into two groups of three who each play a chukka on, then one off, across the game.
Colly scored two goals towards a 14-6 win against Victoria in the finals on Thursday night.
Colly’s dad Murray said he won a place on the seven-member state side through two selection carnivals, the zone championships and NSW club championships.
He’s been playing polocrosse for about five years - along with his family.
He’s been working with his horse Kit, a seven-year-old mare, for the past two years.
The Thomases are part of a Tumut-Forbes team that trains on the family property or at Eugowra Showgrounds when they can get together.
“Polocrosse is a great family sport because the parents can play too, we’re not just on the sideline,” Murray said.
“We also camp, have campfires, it’s a really strong family sport.”
Forty-four teams including under 12s, 16s, 21st, seniors and masters teams were part of the carnival.
