For those with an interest in trivia, and those just looking for an enjoyable evening out, Havannah House is hosting a trivia and silent auction evening tomorrow night.
Trivia questions will be many and varied for those thinking of doing a quick study session - some unusual NSW history, a Family Feud round, musician or serial killer section, local and general rock quiz, sports and games, are you smarter than a 5th grader, action and entertainment.
The trivia will finish off with the ‘Final Countdown’, which will pull in questions from the above categories, and the winners will walk away with a massive meat pack and voucher.
Organising spokesman, George Barnes, said he was “blown away” by the generosity of the Forbes community and its businesses.
“I am not originally from Forbes, but everyone we saw was more than happy to donate or promote the event,” he said.
There are some excellent items up for silent auction, including charcoal barbecue and kindling, kitchen pack (with pots and pans and everything needed to set up house), sewing kit, lamps and outdoor sensor lights.
Funds raised at this trivia and silent auction evening will go towards installation of an internal ramp for wheelchair and pram access, and a disabled toilet at Havannah House, with plans in the pipeline for the event to become an annual one.
Havannah House provides emergency accommodation and lessons in various life skills for those in need. These lessons can range from budgeting, cleaning, cooking right through to lawn mower maintenance.
The trivia night will be held at Forbes Services Memorial Club tomorrow, Saturday, with registrations at 6.30pm. It will cost $10 per person, with a maximum of 10 on each team (pre-registrations will be taken on 68521366). Bring your own snacks.
(The answer to the trivia question? Dame Nellie Melba.)
