Neil's mother Mabel was raised at Back Yamma and his late sister Pam married the late Ross Herbert
He bought his first guitar from money earned cherry picking at local orchards during the Christmas holidays and his mum and dad agreed to pay for guitar lessons.
By age sixteen he was rhythm guitarist and backup singer in a local rock band.
He found himself performing at the Friday night 50/50 dances in front of hundreds of people.
It was at this time that he also started writing my own songs.
He was hooked by the music, the spontaneity and the vibe.
Recently, Neil, a club entertainer now based in Sydney, released his third album titled 'Easy Time'.
The 'Easy Time' album is getting airplay around Australia and in NZ mainly on community radio.
Track 2 on the album the 'Farmer's Face' was inspired by Neil's visits to Eugowra and the farmers that he met.
There is a video you can watch.
Neil has put the 'Farmer's Face' song together with some historical farming footage from Eugowra.
The farming footage comes from a DVD compiled by Andrew Barnes and released by the Eugowra Museum contains old home movies taken by some of the local farming families.
The 'Farmer's Face song video can be seen on You Tube at Neil's Channel called NEILAB100 (or Google Neil Anthony Farmer's Face).
If you would like to see the full 16 minute video you can view that at the Eugowra Museum.
The song 'Farmer's Face' is receiving national acclaim.
It debuted at #26 on the National Country Tracks Top 40 (11 June 2016) and is described as a country ballad or rural eulogy.
Later this month Neil's album 'Easy Time' is booked as the 'Album of the Week' on National Radio Show- Good Morning Country.
It's a syndicated show that goes out to about 80 stations including Forbes Valley FM.
Only one album gets selected each week and it's generally given to the big name acts so Neil is feeling quite honoured.
The Easy Time album has 15 tracks including 'The Grey Nomads' another one of Neil's original songs that has received chart success.
Neil’s concerts are a trip down a “musical memory lane” featuring favourite Australian, American, English and Italian songs.
With guitar and ukulele he presents an easy listening variety of songs that you will all know and love.
He also includes some of his own distinctive original songs such as “Tamworth Country Gold", “The World’s Greatest Me”, “Peanut Butter on Toast” and “April the 25th”.
He has been making return visits to many venues for more than 10 years and has a large regular roster where he appears.
