A 37-year-old Parkes man was handed a 12-month good behaviour bond for driving under the influence of drugs.

Bradley John Morton of Forbes Road, Parkes pleaded guilty to the charge in Forbes Local Court on Thursday, June 9.
According to police facts tendered to the court, Morton was stopped by police for a random breath test on Bogan Gate Road, Forbes at 5.50pm on December 4, 2015.
The breath test was negative however the oral fluid test detected cannabis and methamphetamine.
Morton was arrested and taken to drug truck RBT19 for a second test which was also positive. He told police he had “smoked a bit of synthetic cannabis the other night”.
Morton, who represented himself, told the court he needed his licence “to get from A to B”. He said his cannabis use had “quietened down a lot”.
Morton was sentenced to a section 10 bond for 12 months by Local Court Magistrate Robert Rabbidge.
