Ian Rodgers, of Forster Street, Forbes pleaded guilty in Forbes Local Court on Thursday, June 9, to driving while disqualified.
According to police facts tendered to the court, Rodgers was caught driving at 6.50am on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 when police pulled him up at the intersection of Farnell and McDonnell streets. When checks revealed he was disqualified from driving until August 21, 2025, Rodgers shrugged his shoulders and said to police, “what can I say, you got me”.
Local Court Magistrate Robert Rabbidge said he had no option but to send Rodgers to jail.
“Mr Rodgers is once again before the court on another drive while disqualified matter,” he said.
“He is putting the community at risk for continuing to drive while disqualified.”
Rodgers was also disqualified from driving for two years.
