Appropriately, A Magic Zariz was bred and is raced by Wally and Leonie Prout from Gilgandra.

Dubbo trainer Garry Lunn and his brother Wayne "Bronco" Lunn the owner of Cuban Lass and Consented supplied the quinella in a close finish to the Benchmark 60 Handicap, 1550 metres.
Cuban Lass (12.00) ridden by Bathurst apprentice Jamie Gibbons shared the lead then survived the challenge by Consented (Clayton Gallagher,10.00 ) to win by a half head with Spinning Gold (Greg Ryan, 2.05 fav. ), third.
Sydney based Tony Cavallo is a regular at country meetings and he landed a winning treble including the Dar Lunn, Dubbo trained Grass Cutter in the $20,000 TAB Saddle Up Sunday Cannonball Handicap, 1100 metres.
Greg Ryan has a great record at Gilgandra and he produced outstanding rides to win on Iona Nicconi (3.00 fav.) for Dubbo trainer Bridget Jones and Cedee Prince (8.00) trained at Tamworth by Sue Grills.
Gulgong apprentice Jake Pracey-Holmes is another riding very well and he brought the Derek Piper, Mudgee trained Relative Chaos (8.00) from midfield with a strong run along the rails to account for Our Snazzy Chassis (Mathew Cahill, 4.20 fav,) and Suman The Yak (Tony Cavallo, 4.40 ) in the Maiden Plate run over1550 metres.
