Club major triples: In the major triples the champion team of Glen Kearney, Bruce Williams and Mitch Andrews were lucky on the last end to pick up three and take the match by 19:17 from Peter Mackay, Ian Simmonds and Brian Tisdell.

Also progressing to the next round we have Scott McKellar, Scott Andrews and Jarrod Andrews with a 28:20 win from John Stringer, John Williams and Russell Hodge.
Contesting the next round of the major triples we have Bert Bailey, Lawrence Jackson and Dale Barker after a 30:21 victory over Kingsley Green, Don Craft and Don Drabsch.
Wednesday at One: Thank you to Alf Davies for helping run the Wednesday while I have been away.
Last Wednesday the new boys Scott McKellar and Alf Davies picked up a 17:12 win from the old boys Peter Mackay and Cliff Nelson.
Flash and Brian Tisdell had a close 22:19 win from Bobby Grant and Don Hodson. John Cutler and Bill O’Connor finished 14:7 in front of Ron Symons and Ray Dunstan.
Thursday afternoon: Last Thursday Col Breaden and Viv Russell had a 21 all neck and neck tie against Scott McKellar and Brian Tisdell.
Wayne Moon and John Kennedy won the last end to finish 26:25 in front of Bill Looney and Tony Bratton. We heard the Rooster filled in for Wayne toward the end of the match.
Darryl Griffiths and Don Drabsch finished 28:21 in front of Cliff Nelson and Glen Kearney in a very friendly match.
The Flash and Grant Lambert gave Sandra Priest and Elwyn Pavey some well needed practice.
While Bobby Grant and Billy Adams also gave Annette Tisdell and Peter Tisdell some well needed practice.
After a slow start Merv Langfield and Wayne Burton finished 25:22 in front of Rob Priest and Al Phillips.
Ian MacCallum and Sprow picked up a 22:15 win from Ernie Egan and Lyall Strudwick.
There is plenty of latent talent here so good luck in the weeks ahead.
Sunday morning bowls by Ron Goodger: Thanks to the support of the Bankstown bowlers and punters we had a big 44 players grace the greens last Sunday.
There were six good bowlers with resting touchers and they were Max Tiven, Kerry Smith, John Lasker, Colin Froud, Peter Tisdell and Ken Matters.
We look forward to more players attaining this high standard next week.
The winners for the day were John Fipps and the evergreen John Baass who had a victory over Mick McAnty and Bob McGinty.
The runners up went to Frank Mulligan and Peter Hargrave who played Ken Matters and John Bentick.
In the other games Steve Pye and Ron Thurlow were too good for Bob Spinks and Grant Lambert.
Paul Baker and Allan Hilder won from Felix Burns and Clive Herbert. Trevor Buchanan and Darryl Griffith won from Alan McCann and Viv Russell.
Alf Davis and Ray Dunstan were in good form against John Dietrich and Lyall Strudwick. Lindy Canon and Don Hodson were too good for Pat Hodson and Col Breaden.
Max Truer and Kerry Smith defeated John Lasker and Colin Fraud. Geoff Brown and Elwyn Pavey finished in front of Lesley Dunstan and Cliff Nelson.
Peter Tisdell and Michael Flash Ryan took the honours from John Cutler and Danny Cassidy.
Finally Greg Hodge and Lawrence Jackson played too well for John Hargrave and Russell Hodge. Please accept my apologies for any wrong name spelling as some of the writing was hard to read.
Sunday, August 21 is the annual meeting at 10am.

Sporting shooters
Forbes Sporting Shooters Association held a special five stand shoot on Sunday July 31 for members of the Bankstown Sports club who were in Forbes for the race meeting on Monday August 1.
Seventeen members of the Bankstown Sports club took part in this shoot, the weather was fine and sunny with a light north westerly breeze.
The committee would like to thank the following for their help in running this shoot (Phil Cleal, Ben Smith, Norm Brook, Doug Davis, Tim Maitland, Grant Nicholson, Adrian Hodges, Phil Picker and Tony Bratton).
Results for the shoot were: Squad one Victor Gauci, 2-7 total 9, Todd Stone 6-8 total 14, Mervyn Crutchley, 7-14 total 21, Leigh Cunneen, 7-17 total 24, Dennis O’Dwyer, 8-11 total 19.
Squad two Troy Singh, 14-13 total 27, Chris Sedler, 11-9 total 20, James Sorrenty, 10-8 total 18, Andrew Cooke, 6-8 total 14, Chris Cahill, 5-7 total 13.

When the rimfire shoot finished some of the Bankstown members went over to try the rimfire shooting.
Results: The weather was warm and sunny with a light north westerly breeze and the temperature was 18 degrees. This was a Fox target shoot held over 25 metres with a maximum score of 280 points, using a .22 cabilre rimfire rifle fitted with a scope, a 50m .22 target shoot with a maximum score of 250 points, and the 75m Fly target shoot with a maximum score of 120 points.
There were 16 shooters, range officers were David Coleman and Brian Neilsen. Scorers Wayne Facey and John Dean.

The next .22 calibre and other rimfire rifle shoot is this Sunday August 7, starting at 10am. Weather permitting, the next Wednesday shoot will be held on Wednesday August 17 starting at 3pm.
At the Bedgerebong road range, turn right off the Bedgerebong road onto Dr. Young Drive.
All target shooters are welcome to attend these shoots. Any person wishing to try these forms of shooting can take part after filling out a P650 form at the club, juniors must be 12 years or over.

The next shoot for the Forbes S.S.A.A. sporting clays will be their 75 target 5 stand shoot on Saturday 13th August starting at 1pm. On Sunday 14th August 2016, The Tim Lynch Memorial a 100 target off the gun shoot will be held starting at 9-30am, at the Bedgerebong road range.
