“We are very excited about starting up the Community Stall,” said market coordinator, Melissa Willemsen-Bell.
“We want to encourage people to bring down any produce they have grown at home, and we will sell it on their behalf at the community stall.
“It could be excess home-grown winter vegetables, seedlings, flowers or even herbs.”
“The only condition is that it must be produce that is grown locally.”
This weekend will also see Trunkey Creek Bacon and Pork, from Orange, attending the markets for the first time. They will have a range of products for sale, including bacon and smallgoods, which are perfect for a cold winter’s day.
For the more health conscious, locals Sweet Nourishment will also be selling a range of delicious and healthy food like raw natural muesli bars, protein balls and treats.
“With the addition of Trunkey Creek and Sweet Nourishment, we really do have something here for everyone,” Mrs Willemsen-Bell said.
“We have beers from Borenore, meat from Canowindra, veggies from Wellington, and sourdough and coffee from right here in Forbes.
“With the weather predicted to be cold but sunny this weekend, we are hoping to be back in Victoria Park. However, if there is inclement weather or rain, we will be back in the Town Hall.”
