The entry process is simpler than ever – all entries for the awards are now online, there is a series of questions for each category.
Forbes Business Chamber chairman Chris Roylance said he was excited that the local awards categories, for the first time since they started 20 years ago, align with the regional awards.
That means winners progress straight on to the regional and possibly state awards.
Central West Orana Business Chamber regional manager Vicki Seccombe encouraged businesses to have a look through the categories and questions to consider what they might be able to enter.
She came to Forbes earlier this month to give businesses some tips on putting together a good entry.
“The judges will be external to the region,” she said.
“You are the expert on your business – don’t be shy, tell your story. Let us know what you have been doing.
“Be specific, give examples and measurable answers such as KPIs.”
Ms Seccombe said it was worth taking the time to check and re-read entries to make sure they’re readable.
Ms Seccombe said entering business awards was great for a business’s marketing strategy and business plan.
“They are a great part of your marketing strategy, a way to promote excellence in your business and a way to promote staff where they are doing a great job and should be recognised,” she said.
Entries close August 29, the gala awards night is on October 28.
