Police have warned against driving into floodwaters or moving road closed signs after a motorist was trapped in water on Tuesday night.

Police were called to the driver about 7.30pm on the Lachlan Valley Way. The SES rescued the driver but the vehicle had to be abandoned.
A police spokesperson said the motorist had driven around two road closed signs after being advised by word of mouth that he would be able to cross. His car stalled in the flooded causeway.
SES was called to Muddy Lagoon again about lunchtime Thursday with reports a motorist in a Rodeo was trapped. It is understood family members were able to retrieve them before SES arrived.
Police are issuing tickets to drivers who disobey road closed signs and drive into flood water – it is a $260 fine and two demerit points.
In other matters, police arrested a 26-year-old female in relation to an alleged assault at a Lachlan Street business on Wednesday. A police spokesperson said she was being dealt with under the mental health act.
