Some of the events that were postponed due to wet weather and flooding are on at the Showground this Saturday.
Family fun during the day will include a jumping castle, demonstrations by the Forbes Snake Catcher at 10am and 1pm, Barkley’s Barkers dog display.
Forbes Little Athletics will run tabloid games for the kids and the Animal Nursery will be open for the day too.
There will be market stalls with a range of goods on offer, a canteen, an ice cream truck for the kids and a coffee van for the grown ups.
Yard dog trials will start at 7.30am, so make sure you have a look at those as you come through the gate.
The much-anticipated horse ring events will commence at 9am. With more than $10,000 in prizes, prize money and garlands, the competition should be fierce!
The working hunter classes involve riding horses over rustic jumps, and this will be happening in front of the grandstand, in Ring 4 after lunch.
The dog high jump commences at 2pm but you entrants must be there at 1.30pm to register.
If you have a springy dog, it is definitely worth entering – there are three dog height divisions, and the prizes in each are $25 for first, $15 for second and $10 for third. Bring Rover along, and see how he goes.
Entry on the day will be a gold coin at the gate, or $5 per car – an absolute bargain for a day of entertainment, with the bonus of supporting your local Show Society.
For those who love watching the horse ring events, they will also be competing on Sunday 23rd, from 9am.
The Ladies’ Auxiliary do a wonderful job at the Show each year, and are back again for our postponed competitions this year too.
They will be supplying meals and refreshments to our judges and stewards who have volunteered their time over the course of the weekend.
If you would like to make a donation to the Ladies’ Auxiliary, in the form of eggs, slices, or anything else; please contact Tommy Parker on 6852 3861.
