This is the fourth year of the Forbes Arts Society's yearly photo exhibition and the competition attracted 27 entrants.
The resulting show is almost 200 photos on show from professional, amateur and junior photographers.
For the first time this year, there is an under 12 section open to “Happy Snaps”.
Adults and under 18s competed across six categories: People Portraits in Black and White, Critters in Colour, Skies, Transportation, Foliage and Reflections.
"Winning photographers showed tendency to combine fundamental elements of strong composition including line, shape, contrast and forms or chose unusual subjects and gave a different perspective outside of the norm,” Judge Luke Wong from ABC Central West said.
The Best of Show shot was won by 10-year-old Jonah Bennett with "Bridle", a close-up of a horse's head.
The Forbes Arts Society congratulates the winners and is very grateful to all entrants for participating and making the competition a success with their beautiful photos.
The exhibition in the Town Hall is open every day until Sunday October 30 from 10am-4pm. Entry is free and almost all photos are for sale.
Sculptures entered in the Sculpture Forbes 2016 prize also continue on show – in Albion Park, Forbes Services Memorial Club, The Platypus Gallery, and businesses with shop fronts in the central business district.
After the exhibition the best photos will be on display in the Platypus Gallery for about a month.
