A Hobart radio presenter has been suspended from her role after making an on-air joke about the ride tragedy at Dreamworld this week which killed four people.

The comment was made during the breakfast radio show’s “secret sound” segment, during which 7HOFM presenter Anna Dare said the audio that was played had a “violent sounding”.
“It’s not getting stuck in conveyor belt in a theme park, is it?” she said.
“Too soon?”
After a few seconds silence and a groan from her co-presenter Mick Newell, Ms Dare attempted to recover:
“That’s what it sounds like to me. That’s the first thing I thought of. I don’t like it. It’s a yucky sound. It’s a 140 bucks worth if you can guess it.”
Shortly after, radio station owners Grant Broadcasters issued a statement apologising for the comments and to the families of the people who lost their lives.
The statement said Ms Dare would be counselled and a decision was yet to be made on when she would return to air.
Four people died on Tuesday in an accident at Dreamworld when a raft on the Thunder River Rapids ride was overturned.
