Council's last meeting for the year was held last Thursday and it was a very productive meeting. One of the items discussed was the aerodrome and we will be proceeding with the first stage of the subdivision in the near future. We also had a presentation from Chief Planner for NSW, Gary White. It was very informative and we appreciate Gary taking the time to come to Forbes. Our first meeting for 2017 will be held on Thursday, February 16.

Last Saturday morning I visited some of the shops in town to say Merry Christmas, which was very well received. From the feedback I was given, the shops have been busy during the lead up to Christmas.
Don't forget to have your say on the Forbes Community Plan 2027 by completing the survey at www.forbes.localvoices.com.au. You should have also received a hard copy of the survey in the mail with a reply paid envelope. This is your chance to participate in the planning for our town. The survey closes on Tuesday, January 3.
From the week beginning Monday, January 9, all households will receive the Find it in Forbes Annual Calendar for 2017. There will also be copies at the Visitor Information Centre.
Council is organising a great summer school holiday activity for January. We will have more information to announce during the first week of January.
Council offices will be closed from 3pm today and re-open at 8.30am on Tuesday, January 3.
