Leber will make his debut for the Andy Friend-coached side on Saturday after being called into the squad for the tournament.
The ACT under-20s representative and Brumbies sevens player is keen to force his way into the Australian junior side and will get the perfect chance as part of the sevens set up.
The sevens system is a perfect pathway to Super Rugby, with Tom Cusack and Lausii Taliauli using the shortened version of the game as a springboard for their career.
But if Leber impresses, he could set himself up for a bid to be a part of Australia's squad for the 2020 Olympic Games.
The Australian men's and women's teams will use the Darwin event as a warm up for the Sydney sevens in February.
