Fantastic news: I’m happy to say Kylie Adams-Collier will be arriving on the weekend for Sunday’s muster.
Kylie was our guest for our September muster last year, but we had to cancel her appearance due to flooding. This didn’t deter her promising to come back as soon as possible.
Coming all the way from Sydney, Kylie Adams-Collier will also appear at the 2017 Bedgerabong Country Music Campout.
Kylie started to write songs at the age of five on her mother’s piano and played numerous leading roles in school musicals.
She moved to Sydney in the late 80’s and started to sing with country bands. Kylie joined a band called the Snow Leopards in the early 90s and recorded with Waterfront Records.
While touring, she made it on national radio and got into the alternative ARIA top 10 charts. Kylie also produces and presents Country folk Around Australia every Sunday Morning 6 am EST on National radio.
Kylie has just released her second album called “Sweet Dreams til Morning” which has been picked up at a rapid rate on community radio.
One of the tracks from her new album called Waiting For Heaven To Rain she duets with Justin Standley. This song made it to No #2 on the Country Tracks Chart Top 40.
Her album is also being played in the Neverlands, France, Canada, England,Germany and New Zealand.
Her album features 12 tracks, seven penned by Kylie and five traditional tracks which included: Don’t Fence Me In, I Can’t Help It If I’m Still In Love With You, Dream A Little Dream Of Me, Careless Love and Crying Time. Her songs include When Love Ones Are Near, I Wanna Live On A Farm, Come On and Dance With Me.
Kylie has already won many awards and was recently a finalist in three sections at the Songwriters Salute Awards at Tamworth. We are thrilled to have her as our guest this February muster.
We hope everyone will be excited to have Kylie appear, we have been so lucky to have an artist like Kylie fit us in her busy timetable. Let’s make Kylie feel welcome to Forbes.
Other news: We finished off December with the Christmas muster with many turning up to join in the Christmas cheer.
Paddy Molly and Ray Lasserre were happy to take to the stage and sing a number of Christmas carols.
Excitement from the children came when Santa and his Elves appeared giving out lolly bags to the happy faces. Walk ups on the day also kept the audience dancing to the many songs all afternoon.
There were some very happy winners with the Christmas raffles and Pick A Box. This muster concluded the year on a very happy note.
Due to New Year and many being away in January we did not have a muster in January but we do hope all our members and friends had a lovely break as we are looking forward in catching up again this year.
There has been a few changes with dates this year with Forbes Country Music Club bringing their talent quest forward to April 28 and 29.
Please take note of these dates if you would like to appear at it or just be a spectator.
Guest are booked for 2017 Bedgerabong Country Music Campout on October 3 to 10.
Posters have been made and will be distributed shortly around town. Many other events will be happening during the year so please stay tuned.
Well that’s all for now, keep these dates in your diary and we hope to see you all soon at one of the Forbes country music events.
