Helen currently works in the Parkes shire as a Tennis Australia Club professional coach and has been in this role for some 34 years.
Helen is a Tennis Australia Coach Mentor working with young developing coaches across Australia, and the Regional Talent Development Co-ordinator.
In 2011, Helen was awarded Tennis NSW Coach of the Year and in 2012 had the honour of being the first female to receive a Coach Excellence award for Tennis Australia’s Hotshots program at the Newcombe Medal.
In 2016, Helen’s dedication and passion to coaching was further rewarded when she was announced at the Tennis Australia Newcombe Medal as Club Coach of the Year, and once again, the first female to receive an award in this category.
Helen’s coaching philosophy is much more than just following a set of principles or having a well-established plan. Coaching is interaction in young people's lives.
Helen strongly believes successful coaching isn’t just about accomplishments or results.
If coaches can continue to inspire, influence and motivate young people to strive to be the best people they can be, based on a relationship of respect, inclusion and care, then that’s a real mark of success for coaches in our communities and players will get the most out of their athletic experiences.
The dinner is on Saturday 4 March at the Forbes Services Memorial Club at 6.30pm.
Tickets are available from HelloWorld Travel until Friday 24 February 2017. Adults $40 and Children $25.
