Scarlett Garland is going to shave off her long, blond hair as part of the World’s Greatest Shave for a Cure, in honour of little sister Ava.
Ava has been having treatment for leukaemia since mid-last year. After months of intensive chemotherapy she is home again with her family to continue treatment.
Scarlett will be joined at the shave, at St Laurence’s school assembly on Monday, by friend and neighbour Tom Maslin and their bus driver Dorsey Uphill.
Tom’s been growing his hair since September. Dorsey’s mo … well that’s been in place for 50 years. It’s only been shaved off once and that was for another little local undergoing leukaemia treatment.
To sponsor the kids, go to worldsgreatestshave.com.au, select support a friend and type in their name. This should direct you to their pages to send a message or donate to the Leukaemia Foundation.
