Guest speaker, popular comic entertainer Vince Sorrenti, will speak to more than 800 people at the sold-out event on South Circle Oval.
Forbes Rugby Union Club President, Tracey Prior, said she was looking forward to meeting Mr Sorrenti.
“I’ve heard he is a bit of a crowd pleaser,” she said.
“I look forward to having a good laugh. Obviously the underlying thing is giving back to the community most importantly, but it’s good to have fun along the way.”
Forbes Running and Triathlon Club, Forbes Badminton Club, Forbes Toy Library and the Garland family were named as this year’s Platypus Fund beneficiaries.
$10 of each ticket is contributed to this fund, it provides a $1000 prize for one table. The rest of the funds are divided between the chosen beneficiaries each year.
The club has chosen batyr as the beneficiary of their major auction fundraiser.
The batyr website says the organisation provides programs that train young people to speak about their personal experience with mental health and start a conversation in their community.
This year’s major auction item will see 10 people enjoy a fully catered dinner at Eat Your Greens with Oatley Wines included.
Also up for auction for the Forbes rugby club are a handcrafted redgum mirror by Justin Walker, a painting by Rosie Johnston and spring tour Wallaby representative jumper.
After rain early this week, Mrs Prior said South Circle Oval was looking beautiful.
“Preparations are moving along very well,” she said.
“The community is really supportive of the club. We like to give back to those small businesses and charities in the community. It’s nice to be able to help out.
“A lot of people come back to town for the event. It’s a nice way to kick off the season,” she said.
