Nick Turner is encouraging Forbes residents to get involved in the Forbes Triathlon Festival, as either an entrant or volunteer.

Six events ranging from tri beginners to competitive triathletes will make up the April 1st festival – the Miniman (7-11 years), Enticer, Enforcer, Sprint, Standard and Ultimate Forbes.

“There is a real smorgasbord of distances catering for first timers and kids through to those who want to really challenge themselves,” Nick said.

He encourages community sports groups to come together.

“There is a Forbes swim club, bike club and runners club, they all have a preferred leg. People can do it as a team, that is what we are trying to encourage,” he said.

“You don’t have to have a flash bike, you don’t need a proper bike. That’s not what it’s about. Bring down whatever you have and you’ll have fun. It’s not very often a triathlon comes to town. Take the opportunity,” Nick said.
