The Kangaroos and Rhinos will continue their build-up towards the April 1 kick-off with trials against the Western Plains representative side, a team continuing its own preparations before next month’s Country Championships.
The day begins with the Central West colts having a training run before taking on the Dubbo Barbarians, a side made of players from both the Kangaroos and Rhinos.
That clash is followed by a match between a Dubbo Roos second and third grade composite side taking on Coonabarabran.
That match will be played in 25 minute thirds.
The Roos have named an extended 20-man first grade squad and it will take on Western Plains from 4pm in a match made up of 20 minute quarters.
The match will be the first the side has played under new first grade coaches Dean Matthews, Mark Stanford and Rob Bond, who led second grade to the title last season and are also coaching the Central West colts this year.
Once that game is played out the Rhinos take the field, giving some new faces the chance to impress in a pre-season clash with the Cobar Camels from 5pm.
Kick-off in the day’s first game is at 12.30pm.
