The music-themed evening drew 92 people and raised $7260, organiser Tami Stewart said.
The night’s best-dressed table was Sally Duff’s team as Groovy 60s and 70s.
Michael Butler was best-dressed man as Kermit the frog; Krystal Hanley was best-dressed lady as Baby Spice and best-dressed group was Kerry Shaw’s team of Pink Ladies.
Tye Stewart auctioned donated items including a beautiful Frozen toy box donated by Pallets Apart; original artwork done by Sharp Art; battery donated by Jelbart Tyrepower; three nights accommodation on the South Coast for 15 people donated by Lynn and Phil Petersen. They also gave the Garland family three nights there.
There was two nights’ accommodation in Bathurst on the straight of Mount Panorama in a three-bedroom home donated by Jenny and Brad Shephard and a limited edition coin collection donated by The Mint in Canberra.
“The town was so generous with donating things for our fundraiser,” Mrs Stewart said.
“We are so lucky to have support from businesses and families in this town we call home.”
Carly Cowan as Dolly Parton was the winner of the air guitar competition with Hayley Quigley not far behind.
Funds raised on the night were divided between two good causes: the Garland family and the McGrath Foundation.
“The Garland family from Wirrinya have had a rough nine months with their little daughter Ava, three years old, being diagnosed with leukaemia,” Mrs Stewart said.
“She has been undergoing intensive chemotherapy treatment at Westmead Children’s Hospital.
“She is now home but still has 18 months ongoing maintenance chemotherapy for the next 18 months.”
The other beneficiary of the evening is the McGrath Foundation, supporting those with breast cancer.
Mrs Stewart said breast cancer affects many people, both female and male, and it really hits home when someone you love gets it.
“We are so lucky that the treatment can be done in Parkes and Orange, so close to our home town Forbes,” Mrs Stewart said.
