This week I have a focus on funding, walks, insurance and bus tripping. Landcare Australia’s Habitat Restoration Grants 2017 are proudly funded by Landcare Australia’s Workplace Giving Program. These grants will support the Landcare community’s involvement in protecting and enhancing Australia’s biodiversity assets. Landcare and volunteer based community groups are invited to apply for a grant of up to $10,000.00 (ex GST) to fund projects that focus on improving biodiversity through the restoration of habitat for Australia’s native flora and fauna. Please carefully read the Grant Guidelines & Criteria before submitting an application.
Groups can apply for the 2017 Habitat Restoration Grants on the Landcare Australia Communities Portal. To submit an application you will need to register as a user on the Landcare Australia Communities Portal and the create your application
For questions about submissions, refer to the FAQs tab on the Landcare Australia Communities Portal or email grants@landcareaustralia.com.au.
Did you ever wonder what happened with a local Landcare group project that you heard about 15-20 years ago, but were afraid to ask? We are planning to hold a bus trip in September to have a look at past projects in our area. The Back Yamma Landcare Group are keen to be involved and showcase some of their projects. We would like to hear from you if you have a project in your area that is worth sharing.
The next National Parks Association (NPA) walk will be April 12 and the group are heading to Back Yamma State Forest. If you are interested in attending, please contact walk leader, Bob Bokeyar on 0419 625 031. The NPA walks are run by a willing and enthusiastic group of volunteers who have a wealth of knowledge of our local wildlife.
Central West Lachlan Landcare have changed their insurance cover and have chosen to utilise the Membership and Insurance program that Landcare NSW has negotiated and brought together. CWLL felt that the membership and insurance program is good value for money and also strengthens Landcare NSW in their representations to government on behalf of members.
For a number of years one of the key things Landcare groups have asked for is cost effective insurance that provides adequate protection for group members. Landcare NSW are now able to deliver on that need with the new Membership & Insurance Program. Visit centralwestlachlanlandcare.org happy Landcaring!
