A police spokesperson said it appeared the wallet was taken from the counter in the Rankin Street supermarket on Tuesday afternoon.
Investigations are continuing.
Police have charged two people with drink driving this week.
Police stopped a 30-year-old male on the Orange Road about 10.30am. He returned a positive roadside breath test and was subsequently charged with low-range drink driving.
A 21-year-old male was charged with special range drink driving after an incident on Monday night.
Police breath-tested the man in Lower Bathurst Street shortly after 7.10pm and subsequently charged him with special range PCA.
A police spokesperson said he was also charged with other driving infringements.
