Wednesday at One – Trevor Curry is the man to watch, he has his bowls on remote control. Last Wednesday Trevor and Scott McKellar combined well to return a 13:10 win from the formidable team of John Gorton and Barry Shine. There was a 15 all draw between team Fred Vogelsang and Brian Tisdell who played Team Jim Maloy and Rob Priest.
The game of Don Hodson and Merv Langfield against Bill O’Connell and Eddie Gould was not a draw. It took Eddie and Bill ten ends to get onto the board, but that’s bowls. Sometimes you have luck and sometimes you don’t. Ernie Egan and Sid Maloy picked up a 23:15 win from Ray Sanderson and Barry Wright.
Finally John Cutler and a visitor David Harvey had a well-deserved 18:16 win from Alf Davies and Mel Sinclair. Thanks gents see you again on Wednesday. Have a happy Easter.
Thursday afternoon – There was another good rollup of twenty four players Last Thursday. Bobby Grant and Tony Bratton took a 29:21 game from Michael Hohnberg and Grant Lambert. Ernie Egan and Wayne Burton picked up a 27:13 from Pete Brogan and Mick Connelly.
Harvey Elliott and Brian Asimus finished 28:18 ahead of Clive Herbert and Cliff Nelson. In the triples games John Ashcroft, Scott McKellar and Viv Russell had an 18:14 win from Ron Symons, Wayne Moon and Al Phillips. Then Max Vincent, John Cutler and Darryl Griffiths ran ahead with a 36:9 from K Lincoln, Merv Langfield and John Williams. Well done gents.
Sunday morning bowls by Ron Goodger – There were 22 bowlers last Sunday who turned out to play in conditions which were from fine to blustery to light rain.
The winning rink went to J Johnson, Melissa Shaw and Fred Vogelsang who played triples against Greg Hartwig, Lois Stewart and Max Vincent. The runners up went to Tara Lee Shaw and Pete Brogan who played John Cutler and Allan Hilder. The good bowlers with resting touchers were Tara Lee Shaw and Barry Anderson.
In the other games Geoff Brown and Peter Tisdell defeated Peter Baker and Daniel Tisdell. Barry Anderson and Kerry Smith defeated Clive Herbert and John Bentick. John Lasker and Rod Howarth defeated Alison Cutcliffe and Col Breaden.
This Sunday there will be a green available for Sunday bowlers depending on the weather.
Pennants results – The sevens will return to Gooloogong on Sunday April 23 to continue their match. The game last Sunday was washed out after eight ends. All three of the Forbes teams are in the lead at the moment and 12 ahead on the big board.
