Considering the inclement weather on the day, I congratulate those who came out in the rain to attend the services and participate in the march.
At last week’s Forbes Shire Council meeting we resolved to purchase the former Lachlan Vintage Village site, which is an exciting opportunity for many reasons.
The most important reason is that the large site will allow Council to consider drainage and stormwater solutions for that area.
The site also has a number of zones that can lead to residential and tourism developments.
Once the purchase has been finalised, Council will develop a master plan for the land, which will define the concept and maximise the potential of the site.
Council also approved a loan of $100,000 to the Forbes Men’s Shed.
This loan will be repaid over a period of 20 years and will help build the new shed on Union Street.
Expressions of interest will soon be called for community members to participate in our Section 355 Committees.
These committees come under the five Community Strategic Plan themes of Society and Places, Economic Development, Infrastructure, Environment and Leadership and Governance.
We will let you know when expressions of interest are being called.
Council’s draft Disability Inclusion Action Plan is now on public exhibition until 5pm on Friday, May 26.
Councillors are very pleased with the plan and I encourage you all to read it and make any comments.
It is available to view on our website www.forbes.nsw.gov.au or at Council’s administration offices in Court Street.
Bedgerabong Races are on tomorrow and it will be a great day out.
Council will have a marquee and I encourage you to come and say hello to councillors and staff in attendance.
