The woman was arrested in Browne Street about 6.15pm Wednesday after a short police pursuit.
Police had observed the woman driving and – being aware that she was a disqualified driver – indicated she should stop.
It is alleged that she tried to evade police, but stalled the utility she was driving near the intersection of Browne and Rankin streets.
Police searched the vehicle and found what they believe to be cannabis and methyamphetamine or Ice.
The female and her passenger were then taken back to Forbes Police Station were she was later charged with drive disqualified, disobey police direction, posses knife in a public place and possess prohibited drug.
Detective Sergeant Howard said police believed based on the amount of drug allegedly seized that it was intended for sale.
“The drug had been packaged into multiple bags and would have had a street value of over $1000,” he said.
“I can say that there is a zero tolerance for anybody involved in the supply of prohibited drugs. Inquiries are still continuing into the matter.”
