At the completion of voting on Friday a photograph of two Cowra sisters was determined the winner by our online readers.
The photograph of Cowra identical twins Madelyn and Lara McIntyre was submitted by their mother Rosie and received 1361 votes.
Mum Rosie explained the photo was taken of her daughters riding horse Toby at their pop’s property at Darbys Falls just outside of Cowra on March 17 this year.
As the winner of the competition Rosie and her girls walk away with a camera worth $600 courtesy of our sponsor Compleat Angler and Camping World in Cowra.
Rosie, Madelyn and Lara received their prize from Compleat Angler and Camping World Cowra on Monday.
Runner up in the competition was a photograph of four footballer mates from Red Bend College in Forbes, Lou Goodwin, Andrew Cowhan, Mitch Davis and Jake Grace covered in mud after a win at Young.
The photo was submitted by Robyne Cowan of Forbes and received 1154 votes.
The competition, which was held across the Cowra Guardian, Parkes Champion Post, Forbes Advocate, Grenfell Record, Canowindra News, Boorowa News and Young Witness newspapers attracted more than 250 entries.
Before voting commenced the competition had attracted more than 3700 unique browsers on the participating newspaper websites who made more than 134,000 page views of the photographs entered in the competition.
With the entries all in we then went selected what we thought where the 50 best photographs before handing the final decision on the Lachlan Bestie to the online readers of each of the newspapers involved.
During the online voting period another 150,000 page views were recorded as our readers browsed through the top 50 entries.
More than 6000 unique browsers took a look at the final 50 photographs before lodging their votes.
Three thousand six hundred and ninety ones votes were recorded.
