Organiser Yvonne Shaw said she was proud of everyone that came out on the day, despite the wet weather.
“We ended up with 56 walkers and raised $2559.20, which included the walkers who registered on the day and raffle donations.”
Twenty-five walkers had registered prior to the walk and those funds will be added to form a total for the NBCF.
The ‘Best Dressed Family’ award was given to Sarah, Ella and Amber of the Karaitiana family. The ‘Most Money Raised’ was awarded to Heidi Browne.
Yvonne thanked the Rotary Club for the food van, the Lion’s members for patrolling the roads, FSC for the use of the microphone, Denis Hanna, for advertising the event free of charge on the illuminated road sign, News On Rankin for balloons and Court Press for printing entry forms.
“It was a great day and we will do it again next year.”
