Our last quarterly meeting in West Wyalong had an attendance of 14 members, which is slightly down on our usual roll. We were pleased to welcome guest speaker, Fran Mitchell. The following extract of her address was taken by secretary Margaret Smith.

“Fran started her nursing training at the Canberra Community Hospital before going on to Royal North shore to do her Midwifery. Fran had many happy experiences and learnt a lot about people during this time. She then got married and returned to live in West Wyalong and had four children.
“After the children had grown up a bit she returned to nursing as a community nurse. This involved servicing the outlying districts around West Wyalong. In these villages she made some lovely friends and had some very growing experiences. Fran has now retired and is still very active as a volunteer in the community.”
We hope to see everyone, especially Forbes members, attending the next meeting on Sunday May 21 at the Forbes Services Memorial Club. 11am start, guest speaker about midday, lunch about 1pm, homeward bound about 2pm.
We express our sincere sympathy to the relatives and friends of our member, Ted Clifford, who had been in poor health for some time and sadly passed away on February 25.
Ted had been a keen supporter of our organisation and was instrumental in advocating that West Wyalong became part of our quarterly meeting rotation schedule.
