Ladies who attended the cocktail party at the Eugowra Community Bowls and Recreation Club had a wonderful afternoon tasting the variety of cocktails made by Tim and Donna.

Marie, Karleigh, Ben and the girls did a great job preparing the delicious hors d' oeuvres as did Jodie serving them to the guests.
Danny and Steven were kept busy serving the cocktails.
Organiser, Diane Smith, assisted by Michelle Perry, did a wonderful job. Diane thanked everyone for coming and all the workers and those people who donated the great raffle and lucky door prizes.
Funds raised on the day will go towards the purchase of furniture for the deck.
Biggest morning tea
Australia's Biggest Morning Tea, which is held annually to raise funds for the Cancer Council, will take place in Eugowra on Thursday May 25.
The venue for this year's community event will be held at the home of Colin and Yvonne Smalley of Strom Lane.
EVERYONE is most welcome to go along from 10am to enjoy a very tasty morning tea and to listen to the guest speaker, Ricky Puata, who will be speaking at 11am.
Ricky is the Manager of the Orange office of the Cancer Council.
Australia’s Biggest Morning Tea is a chance for Australians to get together and raise money for the Cancer Council.
One in two Australians will be diagnosed with cancer by the age of 85.
Donations at Biggest Morning Tea events fund Cancer Council’s vital research, prevention and support service programs.
Self care units AGM
The AGM of the Self Care Units was held this past week with the following executive re- elected:
President - Hugh Ellis
Secretary - Nicole Brindle
Treasurer - Margaret Tildsley.
Margaret presented her yearly treasurer's report.
Hugh also presented his yearly report in which he stated that the Self Care Units committee are initiating proceedings to build independent living units adjacent to the MPS with a view to accommodate couples or two people.
This is a long term project and hopefully sufficient funding will be sourced.
Successful stall
The Hospital Auxiliary held their Mother's Day street stall last Friday and it was a great success.
Thank you to everyone who donated goods for sale and to all those who supported the stall by purchasing goods and buying tickets.
There was an abundance of fresh flowers and also baked goods and plants etc.
The results of all the competitions and raffles are posted on the notice boards in the local shops.
If there are any local ladies out there who would like to become a member of the auxiliary you will be welcome.
Meetings are held in the Willawa Centre at the MPS on the third Friday of the month at 2pm.
Evening VIEW
Eugowra Evening VIEW Club members enjoyed their May dinner meeting which was held at the Central Hotel on May 15th.
Guest speaker for the evening was Tess Herbert, who is a partner in the 'Gundamain' Feedlot enterprise, and leads a very interesting life associated with the feedlot industry.
Tess and her husband Andrew started their 'Gundamain' Feedlot 15 years ago. They then built a second feedlot at Coonamble in partnership with another couple.
Andrew and Tess then sold their interest in this one and bought another one at Ladysmith where they have 6,500 head of cattle. There is 6,000 head at 'Gundamain'.
Tess holds the position of President of the Australian Lot Feeders Association, is a Director of the Red Meat Advisory Council and on the Board of the Central Tablelands Local Land Services.
Tess and Andrew have two adult daughters, Caitlin and Siobhan with their son Lachlan in Year 11at Kinross Wolaroi in Orange.
Tess finds life very busy and very fulfilling.
President Lyn Ellis thanked Tess for her very interesting talk and made a presentation to her on behalf of members.
One of the main topics for discussion on the evening is the forthcoming Street Stall which is to be held on Friday June 2nd at the front of the old Mulligan's Shop in Broad Street.
Donations of saleable items for the stall will be very acceptable. There will also be a collection of good clothing which will be sent to the Smith Family Shop at Dubbo for distribution.
The 9th birthday party of Eugowra Evening VIEW will be held on Saturday 15th July.
The main fund-raiser for the club this year is the dinner at Eat Your Greens on August 5th. Allan Drew is the special guest speaker – more details closer to the event.

Rugby League News
Eugowra hosted Trundle rugby league teams on the Ian Walsh Football Field last Saturday.
Trundle won the first grade 30-10.
Eugowra Geagles won the League Tag 22-0 and Trundle won the Youth League 42-22.
Round seven will be played at Condobolin this weekend.
