So, with hundreds of thousands of others across Australia, they giggled and mooed through The Cow Tripped over the Moon by Tony Wilson and Laura Wood.
Students from St Joseph's spent the morning with Eugowra Public School and Preschool enjoying activities designed to promote the value of reading and literacy, the value of books and writers and involves parents, grandparents, media all to enjoy the occasion.
Students dressed up in their favourite book story character and thoroughly involved themselves in all activities associated with literacy.
St Joseph’s school thanked Eugowra Public School for hosting the storytime and activities.
Central West Libraries manager Jan Richards, said the annual campaign aims to encourage more young Australians to read and enjoy books.
“This is a vibrant, fun event that promotes the value of reading and literacy,” Ms Richards said.
“We want to ensure National Simultaneous Storytime is an enjoyable experience so that children and their families know reading can be fun.”
National Simultaneous Storytime is held annually by the Australian Library and Information Association (ALIA). Every year a picture book, written and illustrated by an Australian author and illustrator is read.
