Thirty businesses, schools and childcare centres – out of 57 Council inspected – received a five star rating in this year’s Scores on Doors program.
That’s a huge increase on 19 last year.
The Scores on Doors program is the NSW hygiene and food safety program that recognises and rewards the proprietors of food premises that have demonstrated outstanding food handling skills and operate their food premises at an extremely high level.
The certificates can be displayed on the business’s door – it is a way to inform the public about how well local restaurants, takeaway shops, bakeries, pub bistros and cafes are complying with NSW hygiene and food safety requirements.
Council awarded a further 12 businesses four stars for very high compliance and three businesses three stars for a high level of compliance.
“It was pleasing to see that food premises within Forbes continue to maintain a high standard of food handling,” the report to the Council meeting said.
Recipients of five stars were invited to the council meeting to accept their certificates.
