Previously known as Forbes Domestic Violence Committee, the new committee name will coincide with the implementation of the brand new logo, designed by Britney Dukes.
The designing of the logo was part of a competition offered to Forbes High School as part of the Industrial Technology Multimedia course 2016 (Graphic Design Project), and as part of the project students learned how to use the vector-based drawing program Adobe Illustrator CC.
The Forbes DFV Committee volunteers are responsible for raising awareness of all forms of domestic and family violence in the Forbes community.
The aim of the committee is to work to help prevent and respond to domestic and family violence by raising awareness of, and understanding about violence, developing and promoting effective prevention strategies, improving access to services, improving interagency co-ordination and improving the criminal justice response to domestic and family violence.
The FDFVC also coordinate the very successful LOVE BiTES program. Forbes FDFVC welcomes new members at any time. Meetings are held on the second Wednesday of the month 9.30am at Yoorana 40-70 Church street.
