The Tigers are now in second place on the competition ladder after a 26-16 win over the Narromine Jets last weekend.
The Magpies jumped to third place after their hard-fought win over Dubbo Macquarie 24-10 in Dubbo on Sunday.
Needing to win the majority of their remaining matches, the Magpies will be looking to take advantage of the home ground support this weekend in the first of a series of tough matches leading into the semi-finals.
Next week the Magpies travel to Narromine to take on the Jets who are also striving for a semi-final spot before matches against arch rivals Parkes Spacemen and then Dubbo CYMS in the final round.
But first the Magpies will have to overcome the in-form Tigers with key players under an injury cloud.
Club president Greg Grogan said Jake Grace, who has been battling a hip injury, was determined to play this weekend.
However, the club is waiting until Sunday morning before making a final decision on whether he takes the field.
Halfback Farren Lamb has been ruled out of the match after being taken to hospital suffering concussion from a late hit in last weekend’s match against Macquarie.
The Magpies versus Nyngan match is the highlight of a big day of league which starts at 9.45am with the Under 16 Red Bend College playing Forbes Magpies under 16s followed by League Tag at 11am.
