This clean-up will occur the week beginning Monday, August 7 with residents asked to put their waste neatly to the edge of the kerb at their normal weekly collection point on Sunday, August 6.
It is important to separate your waste into three separate piles: scrap metal, white goods and e-waste, bundled organics and general bulky waste, Council said in a media release issued Tuesday.
Acceptable items for scrap metal, white goods and e-waste include fridges, stoves, microwaves, wheel barrows, barbecues, hot water systems, televisions, printers and keyboards, washing machines, metal lawn mowers, empty paint tins, pushbikes, metal furniture, computer monitors, laptops and towers.
Bundled organics include garden pruning that cannot be placed in your green lidded bin, tree branches no longer than 1.8m and 250mm in diameter and untreated timbers.
Accepted items for general bulky waste collection include mattresses, furniture, lounges, bric-a-brac, floor coverings, vacuum cleaners, small appliances and batteries.
All items must be able to be reasonably removed by two people and loose items must be tired securely with rope or string, into bundles or contained in sturdy boxes.
Items you cannot put out for this collection include asbestos, fibro and insulation batts, trade, industrial and shop waste, cement bags and sawdust, items in plastic bags, motor vehicles, engines, car parts and tyres, building and demolition materials, large carpet rolls, gas bottles, fire extinguishers, hazardous waste such as chemicals, paints, solvents, cleaners and unwanted medicines, liquids including fuel and oil and material suitable for placement in mobile garbage bins.
Collections will commence on Monday, August 7 and should be completed by Wednesday, August 9.
