Have you ever complained about being bored in the school holidays? Do you have new ideas or issues you want addressed?
Forbes Shire Council would like to change that!
Council is looking to recruit new members for the Forbes Youth Advisory Committee to assist in planning and running exciting events for our town’s young people.
“We’ve already brought things to Forbes like the Youth Week Colour Run”, Forbes Shire Council’s Youth Development Assistant, Clarissa Horan said.
“Forbes Shire Council is dedicated to providing opportunities for our youth to learn new skills, put on great activities but most of all have fun.”
Forbes Youth Advisory Committee (YAC) is a group of young people aged 12-25 years who work in partnership with Forbes Shire council to provide advice on decisions that affect their lives.
YAC also plan activities and projects that encourage young people's active engagement in their local communities.
Forbes Shire Council is seeking motivated youth to be part of a group who meet regularly to discuss and develop ideas and run events for the young people of Forbes.
The group will run youth activities, school holiday events, National Youth Week, educational programs, host movie screenings and discuss issues relating to young people in town.
Nominations were to close this week but have now been extended to Friday, August 25.
